MADE IN AOTEAROA NEW ZEALAND
Christopher Houghton Budd will be providing an opportunity to explore social renewal with a focus on the economic sphere.
With the current socio-political context in the world, and the significant changes with Trump’s responses to problems on a world stage, including his fiscal way of fixing problems in the world, can we use this opportunity to ask and explore “How can we create a different future?”
We are interested in the folk soul of Aotearoa.
How is Aotearoa positioned in the wider world context? How does this relate to the folk soul of Aotearoa?
This question is particularly relevant in relation to what is happening in the world context, and the significant changes we are witnessing at home and globally.
Christopher will be speaking about why the Society needs to be funded and the responsibility of being part of the Michaelic stream, particularly in light of what we are witnessing in the wider world context.
We would like to invite you to explore these questions with us, to discuss, explore, and find some insights together.
9 to 11 May in Auckland
Rudolf Steiner House, Michaels Ave, Ellerslie.
In collaboration with people with interest from West Auckland, we are pleased to announce a workshop weekend with Christopher Houghton Budd. Christopher is an economic and monetary historian. His work bridges between mainstream finance in London and the work of the Anthroposophical Society Treasurers.
There will be a combination of lectures and interactive workshop sessions to have open discussions leading to co-creating work into the future. We will weave around themes of current world economy and the Anthroposophical Society worldwide; the task of New Zealand; a wider view of money and Rudolf Steiners' world economy as part of social renewal.
The timetable includes a mix of public events and some restricted to ASNZ/GAS members only.
The cost for the weekend is $90 in total. For non-members of the Anthroposphical Society this is for the public sessions and for members it also includes the member-only sessions.
If you wish to only attend a single session please contact us.
On the registration form you are asked to list any questions you have. Christopher is asking for questions that live within us, the people of Aoetearoa New Zealand. A number of people have been in communication with the Council recently about finances and we know there are questions discussed at a regional level. Please take the opportunity offered by Christophers visit to bring these to a common ground for discussion.
If you would be interested to help sponsor this visit, please contact us at info@anthroposophy.org.nz. Sponsorship comes in many forms; we need to pay Christophers flights and his fees; venue costs; catering for morning and afternoon tea. Help with money towards these or sponsorship otherwise is hugely appreciated. Donations to the Anthroposophical Society in New Zealand are eligible for IRD rebates.
We hope to see you there. Numbers are limited and registration closes when full or May 6th
This event is the first of the three Society sponsored events for 2025. The others are the Conference for First Class of The School of Spiritual Science at Kings Birthday weekend and the Society Day and AGM in September. See the Events page for details as they become available.
